I just uploaded our first virtual tour. One of the reasons we decided to use Softplan going forward was the ability to create  this type of marketing media. After a few false starts I think I am getting the feel for recording these clips.

I wasn't planning to upload these too YouTube but it's an option during the process so what the hell.

Good job. One thing that Softplan still needs to improve is the vertical field of view which is still to limited specially for small spaces, to match more a human field of view (unless they have an option now, not on 2016 yet).

Martin,

Very nice! Did you use a 3D Space mouse for the moving and panning  or just a regular mouse? Also just curious to what you had your camera set to for field of view.

Got to agree. Nice work Martin .... The Naples doors look particularly good ... <Just joking!>

Just a regular mouse and I didn't know I could change the field of view. If I can I would like to toy with it to make the walkthroughs a little more realistic.

Credit goes to Keith for the doors. Give credit where credit is due! All I did was play around with the glazing properties and colored in the door panels.

I was only joking about the doors ...

To edit the camera, click on the camera icon on the 3D toolbar. This will bring up the Camera Control, then EDIT and click on the camera icon in the dialogue box, to bring up the EDIT CAMERA box.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see a difference in the camera option with 2016 compared to 2014. You can adjust the horizontal field of view but how do you increase the vertical field of view?

I would just resize (change the aspect ratio) of the 3d view window. Sorta turn the window into a portrait rather than landscape orientation.

As far as I am aware, changing the field of view changes a conical field ... neither horizontal or vertical, but both together. What the camera is viewing and the aspect ratio of the displayed picture aren't necessarily tied together.

Thanks. Never expanded the field of view enough to see that it was also expanding vertically. I don't think there's a way to modify the default field of view is there?

I think that the camera field of view always stays where you last left it. So if you used 88 degrees, it should stay at 88 degrees.

If you generate using "Previous" within the same plan, then it will use the same field of view. Otherwise, it defaults back to 60 degrees.
