Other than creating a hole and a second slab at another level, is there a more sophisticated way to create an elevator pit in a concrete slab in the basement? Similar to making a tray ceilng?

Thanks!

I thought you could do it by adding a footing the correct size then putting a hole in that for the shaft.  But for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the hole to got into the footing.  I can get it thru the slab but not the footing.

Maybe make a conc wall the thickness you need and create the shaft and add another slab below it.  There are still a bunch of editing tools MISSING.

Is this something you need to show in 3D?  Or just a detail?

If it is a deep pit, say 4'+, I would draw foundation walls where the top of the wall is at the top of the slab.   Then 'Add Slab' will go around the pit.  Add slab for inside the pit.

If anything else, feel free to drop me a line.

As with everything else in Softplan, you would draw it the same way that you would build it.

If you would build it with a slab and foundation walls, then draw it that way.

I'm pretty sure that you think tools are missing, because AUTOCAD did it differently. What do you consider it needs ... and I do see some addition tools that would add functionality, but don't recall anything specific as needed/missing, that I can't do without.

If you really need a tool that does something specific, let Softplan know, and if they see a need perhaps they will consider adding it.

On a really personal note, I'd rather they thought more about how some items work (e.g. staircases and handrails) than keep adding more useless niche 3D furniture that I'll never use ... but that's probably just me.

Agree 1000% with the niche furniture comment!

Fix the Software issues first, then worry about dumb furniture.
