Can’t find a way to add trim under the window sills, in ver14 I would add this to the 2d elevation drawing with a box

also how do you extend the Fascia past the end of the gutter?, standard practice here is to extend past the sub fascia 6” and have the gutter butt to it.

Thanks

you mean below the gutter? If so you just need right click & edit the roof, and go to the trim tab and put in the dimensions for a deeper fascia.

HOWEVER, you can't (at least I have not found a way to) move the gutter up to the top of the fascia. The software seems to want to always center it on the fascia. And it's not

and editable feature.

Instead of using the built in window sill option, use a trim profile and select to change to unique trim for each part. Then you can have a stool and apron or sill and casing under your window.

For the fascia extension, my guess is you will have the least trouble if you just draw a profile to match your fascia (while in 3D) and extend it out where you want it, but you'd have to do that with the gutter as a profile as well.

Another option is draw two roofs. Adjust gable overhangs or whatever the neighboring roof overhang is out to where you want the extended gutter and fascia to be, then hide all but the fascia and gutter you want shown extended.

Or, make a profile assembly with gutter and fascia all together and draw it as a trim item (I like chair rail because I rarely use it for anything else and it historically has been easy to adjust) while in interior mode, but adjust and place it so it will be in the correct plane as your fascia on the roof eave you want extended.

You could also make a symbol of such an assembly and just offset it to the correct position needed.

Lots of ways to do it, except the easy way of having an edit menu on the roof menu and being able to extend fascia, gutter, roofing or whatever right in the edit edge menu. Such control sure would be nice.

Thanks for the reply Mark

Just easier to do it in 2d, I was hoping 2020 would have done some of these things for me to save time.

Yep. Some work-arounds are worth it, some are not! Have a good weekend!

Marks right you can get some pretty sweet effects when creating the exact profile you need....huge time saver if you need to apply the profile many times.  Here is a an example:

There are so many profiles available, you can use ANY of Softplans profiles below the window. Not sure what you want here,

EDIT the window ... Go to the EXTERIOR TRIM tab, Check CUSTOM EXTERIOR TRIM. Edit BELOW to whatever you want, Then CLICK CHANGE PROFILES and edit the BELOW profile to one that suits OR make your own profile.

Why is it easier to do in 2D?

Alternately, use a band and return the ends into the wall, by putting a couple of hidden not extracted walls either side of the window ...
