My symbols are printing solid black in room mode.  Previous versions seem to have had an option to turn this off, but that check box is not available in 2020 that I can find.  Has it moved?

Thanks,

Dave

In visible options turn of paint in symbols

^^ This will fix it.

Go to file > Drawing options > Custom settings > mode visibility > Room > un-check the box that says show symbols as solid.

To change it system wide, do the same thing but in system options > drawing options > Assign Colors > and un-check symbol paint.

Sorry for the late response as I was out of town.  This may be a simple question, but I still do not see the check box for show symbols solid, see attachment.  Am I looking in the wrong spot?  I think I am following the menu choices correctly...

go back up to where it says "assign colors" and change it to white, and uncheck the box.

Thanks.  I assumed since the box was unchecked that was not the issue.  Changing the color and unchecking fixed it!

I'd have gone with UNCHECKING "PAINT IN SYMBOLS" in DRAWING OPTIONS > MODE VISIBILITIES > ROOM MODE - DRAWING ITEMS as Heath said in POST #2 - and obviously if you want it off permanently uncheck the same item in SYSTEM OPTIONS

Changing the colour just means you are painting the symbols white instead of black.

I think that, if you don't also set a pen color to white and assign the symbols to that pen, they will still print black on paper-unless you print in color.
