Softplan rendering works for our clients, Lumion is nice, unable to justify the

expense for our market at this time.

I agree ... This is typical of what we produce in Softplan. I don't see any need for it to be any more detailed. If Customers can't see what this is going to be like, then they need better glasses.

+1.  Color and photo realism adds a set of new challenges that doesn't benefit my workflow of drawing homes.  SoftPlan illustrated images work great for me.

Keith,
In your rendering to get the two textures in the gable did you use a custom wall? How did you do it?

There are multiple ways. Sometimes some work better than others ... In this case I used an interior mode wallcovering (on the outside) for the shakes. It tends to work quite well in most situations.
