I am in need of some opinions.  our office is in need of a drafting program to use for .dwg files.  Does anyone have an opinion for the best program, looking for either free as we dont really use this much or less expensive. We need it for making 3D symbols so it needs 3D capabilities.  thank you in advance.

Nanocad 5 is free ... It does 3D, but I don't know much about it's 3D capabilities as I haven't needed them, so haven't tried, but in operation it is VERY similar to AutoCad 2000i. It also has a very AutoCad like interface.

Check it out at https://nanocad.com/products/nanoCAD/

Progecad is not free, but if you are used to autocad the transition takes about 15 min's.  Costs $500.   They have a free 30 day download to try out.  I have abandoned Autocad completely for working with DWG files!
