This video will step you through creating three different custom ceilings, including two different tray ceilings as well as a vaulted ceiling with ceiling trusses.

Adding ceiling trusses to a vaulted ceiling - ceiling trusses show up in ceiling mode plan view, but do not show up in the 3d model view.  I thought I needed to check the "extract in model" box in the edit command, but the option is already checked and grayed out.  Are there any other settings I'm missing?  Thanks!

In the 3D view, go to "Options>Material" and make sure they are set to display there.  You will find them under "Structure".

They need to be checked in "Extraction Options- Framing-Roof Framing" also

And that is a beef of mine. Why in the world would anyone have to know that you have to go "here" and then "there" in order to see something? Doesn't make sense and is terribly inefficient and that isn't even including the frustration experience for people who are learning the program! Could and should be much simpler to have the same level of control.

Thanks for your responses.  The extraction options>framing solution worked did the trick!

Normally, the Materials default to ON ... Typically, you have too explicitly go in an turn display OFF. After that, you're on your own.
