Hi,

I get my Ordnance Survey maps from the Landmark Group in England. Obviously I do not have Autodesk or any CAD other than SoftPlan so I open these files with - Autodesk DWG TrueView Drawing Interchange - freeware.

The plain file - "Promap-856656-952661-720-0" - imports to SoftPlan okay

but the 2 dimensional contours map - "OS_Terrain5_2D_Contours" - although visible in DWG TrueView does not import successfully to SoftPlan but brings up the message "import failed"?

I am able to import other DWG and DXF files successfully.

Is anyone able to import the attached file without any error messages?

Bill, I don't see the attachments. Too large?

I'd be happy to take a look.

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thanks for looking.

I'll try again but if it fails could I e-mail them?

Jim,

I attached the file but it appears not to have loaded - again!

Hello Jim,

I've just pinged off an e-mail to you.

See what you can make of it.

Many thanks

Bill

Hi Jim,

Just to follow up our e-mails yesterday and for anyone else looking, the problem appears to be my SoftPlan V14 (unable to import the file), my ageing Windows 7 PC -  or both!

I'm talking with my IT support in Perth "e-Computers" and the Scotland UK SoftPlan guru Tom Docherty about upgrades - will cost a bit of cash but I should be grateful that V14 has served me well for the past 12 years.

Very grateful for your help, Jim.

All the best and stay safe.

Bill
