I'm trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.

In 3D the lattice under the screen porch show up, but when I generate my elevation it is not there.

Can any one steer me in the right direction to make the lattice appear.

I would hate to draw it all in.

Thanks

Edit the symbol and open the "symbol definition" box. Check "Extract in elevation"

Unrelated to the question you are asking, but don't you need some type of guard rail on the perimeter of the

screened porch?

Is there a reason you don’t use the deck lattice in the edit tab?

Got it to work Henry. Thank you.

Michael...The screen porch is existing and there is a guard rail I just didn't show it at this time.

I was fixated on getting the lattice to show on my elevation.

Thanks your your help.

Steven, (And anyone else interested), I've posted lattice before, but here's a few variations of a seamless lattice texture that I made.

If you create a wall from a little used material (I use cement board) and add these textures (check transparent) they show quite nicely on both the model and the elevations.

If anyone want's a specific colour let me know.

Hi Keith,

Are these lattice examples from Filter Forge? Can Filter Forge do stone seamless flagstone textures (Proper Oblong Flagstone textures and not the broken paving)?

Like Marshalls patio slabs.

Regards

David Edlin

It can certainly do square ones - these are 24" x 24".

There are various brick shapes, so I don't see any reason why oblong isn't possible. I'll have to experiment a bit.

After a bit of experimenting, how do these look. They should show as 24" x 30" on plan.

and yes, they are done in Filter Forge. However, to keep them proportional at 5:4 I had to increase the image size and it became too big to post here, so I had to decrease the JPG quality to 85% to get it down for posting. They should still be more than adequate.

Or of course if you need them in a different colour (or a different mortar) Filter Forge can do that too ...

I think my JPG's are half the size they should be to display the correct size. You may have to adjust the double the display size in Softplan. So the 24" x 24" tiles will probaby display as 12" x 12" and the 30" x 24" tiles will probably display as 15" x 12"

Hi Keith,

What about this type of flagstone laying, where you have different sizes shapes and colours?

Can this be done within Filter Forge or would one need to create their own filter for this effect?

Many thanks

Offhand, I can't find a filter like that. Although i'm sure that there is something that can give that effect. It's just finding it. The filter creators sometimes are using a similar effect for something different, and  haven't given the keywords that you or I would try to use.

Worst case scenario is that you learn to use the various filter commands and design your own. But I don't find it either simple or intuitive.

I'll keep searching and if I find anything suitable, I'll post it.

You can also search filter forge's filters ... https://www.filterforge.com/filters/ ... if you find anything suitable let me know and I'll tweak colours and sizes for you as necessary.

In your 3D model, right-click the deck edge and check the skirting box. You have two options for the placement, below the deck edge or in front of it. You can change the height of the skirting to be whatever you need it to be.
