not sure if anyone is aware but struc calc was reintroduced, with a few enhancements, about a month ago
this is version 10.1.8, with a update made today as well
the feel and look is what we had, using struc calc before ripped away
after a number of complaints and resistance, vitrivus brought it back
I have been using the base 1 program this year. After a while it turned out to be a decent program with a bit of a learning curve.
As soon as strucalc returned, however, I installed that since my membership covered that as well
yes, there is that pesky monthly fee (or by year), very much like softplan
it is a frustrating cost, to not own, but like softplan, there are benefits as well - further the cost should actually be passed on to how you bill out
With me, I need to factor bill fees to not only cover my time but all software programs (softplan, lumion, sketchup, strucalc, photoshop, etc)
in the times we are in, being competitive is important but this is not a charity business either
there is a saying among many professionals I work with, and it holds true from my 30 years in the business;
charge until it hurts and charge a little more --- the reason, if you do more than slapstick drafting you will not be appreciated when making a home depot salary
