Any chance we can get some decorative iron railings added to the library? I have more and more clients asking for them on a regular basis.

You can also bring in just about any profile for top and bottom rails, and any symbol for spindles. If you don't have SketchUp you can still get some of the stuff out there in DAE or DWG files. I typically keep most of that stuff basic as the customer never has their mind made up until the contractor prices it all out and shocks them back to reality. Or they just can't decide on the pattern repeat, etc.

Ok I can't get it to show up in the model... it I can draw it on the floor plan but, It's not showing up in the model. Everything is checked, extract in model, visible in all views, etc...

Did you make sure the material was turned on?

Yeah. It shows up in 3D models (Shaded, Textured, etc...) but when you go to the preset views (front, left, etc..) it doesnt show up. All settings are the same (As far as I can tell)

Is this a symbol? If so, check the definition for "extract in elevation" and "extract in section"

Where is that? The symbol itself is checked "Extract in model"

I've never seen "extract in elevation"

*EDIT* I found it. Thanks!!!

This illustrates a gripe of mine- there can be several places where you have to make sure something is "turned on" in order to see it in this view or that. Far too complicated and makes it hard for people learning the program.

Anyone have anything that's floral? I really do not want to have to draw these iron porch posts, it will take days to do it in SP.

Here is a "panel" that I created a while back as a symbol. I just adjust as needed when needed. OK, I tried to attach it but evidently I'm not allowed to attach a .spy here?
