I am a longtime softplan user who has recently started to see if I can get into softlist. I am struggling to grasp it and any help would be appreciated.

My softlist is generating huge quantities of timber and sheathing into the millions in a normal house. It comes up with multiple errors stating that it is "not a variable , global variable or constant"  mainly in framing, sheathing, and concrete. I override the errors by selecting ignore all. When the report is generated there are huge quantities of certain items.

Also I am located in Scotland and use the metric system. Can softlist automatically convert to metric or does new materials need to be created with metric sizes.

Any help much appreciated.

Steven,

The reason you are getting huge quantities is that SoftPlan while set to Metric measures items in Millimetres. Converted from inches will give you very large values.  Your SoftList may not be setup fully for Metric. Send me a message via www.cadbuild.com.au and I can assit further.

Jon
