Does anyone know if there an easy way to accomplish a 9-Lite Exterior Door?  I have SP 2020 and can't imagine this isn't a symbol already.

Use DUTCH door, which is a 9-light.

my Dutch is only either no grids or 6 grids.  I can change them to be 9-lites, but it doesn't change how it shows in the model

Sorry (I forgot that), if you go to the Dutch door in the System Library > Elevation openings and Uncheck "LINK TO 3D SYMBOL" you can edit the grille pattern to whatever you want.

Thank you!  Is this something you do once and are good for ever?  Or would i need to change it on every project?

its been like that for years.  FYI, this same happens on all grilled doors....you'll have to unlink as Keith said.

Thank you both.  It fixes it in the Elevations, but the model is still showing the default.  Do you think I just need to create a new symbol or whatever?

Go into Drawing Option Library and find the opening and reset the door, then you may have to edit the door on the plan and uncheck product code, then recheck it.

Click on the symbol so it will show up in the preview, then you should be able to click on it.

yeah I've been trying, but no luck.  I'm sure I'm missing something simple.  Although my tag says "Advanced Member" I'm still a newbie user!  Thanks for all the help though!  It's very appreciated!

Go to your System Library and edit the grille to make it 9-Lite. Then go to Drawing Options Library and try to do what I said above.

Oh my word!  I was in the System Options!  I didn't even notice the Drawing Options!  It's all set now!  Thank you for your patience!!!!

Once you unlink the door and rest the library you should be able to change the grille by editing it in your model and see the change made to the grille.
