Hello, I am trying to finish a site plan and am having trouble dimensioning the distance from a curved property line to the corresponding curved building line. When I try to measure the distance it references the arc chords of these two lines instead of the curved lines. How do I dimension the curved lines? What am I doing wrong. I’m a newbie obviously.

There could a number of reasons.  Try turning off arc chord visibility by editing the individual arcs, there is an option there, and then dimension.  If that does not work, draw a line from one arc to the other arc where you want to dimension, then pull a dimension extension from each end of the line and dimension the line.  You can also use offset under tools and offset the distance you want and then position the house (group and use group move if you moving the whole set of house lines and need to keep them together).

Thanks Kevin, I had tried the first option before and it didn’t help. I will try the second and third. Thank you for your time!

I've never been able to make the deminsion, I use a work around, with just placing a line out there to deminsion, if i understand your issue

Thanks gentlemen, drawing the simple line and then dimensioning that seems to work on my end. Thanks for the suggestions. It would be nice if this could be fixed to be able to dimension from the start. For now the work around will do ;)

I have never tried with a curved building line but I do offset a curved property line to create a curved setback line and I have not found a direct way to dimension curve to curve. That would be a nice feature without a work around.

I too just draw a small line that won't be visible and dimension to it... usually have to round the dimension or change it to get it to read exact like 20' or 30' (typical building setbacks)

Thanks everyone for the input, seems like drawing the line and dimensioning it is the consensus and what worked for me!
