Has anyone tried the new gable accent truss selections ...

 

Adding various deflections to the bottom chord, anything from 1" to 24" seems to have the webs doing some real stupid things. In my opinion, the webs should stay

stay at the same location on the top chord, and adjust at the bottom. However, there seems to be no rationale for what they do. adding a 1" deflection seems to have them get much shallower, and changing that to 2" they get much steeper. The tests I've done so far indicate they are all but USELESS if you add a deflection, and I'll have to stick with using my previously drawn 3D symbols.

 

Has anybody had good results adding deflection?

Does restoring a previous configuration MISS OUT on some of the new items?

 

The gable accent trusses have specific finishes. Finishes that I don't seem to have, since I restored my old configuration.

I've tried them a bit, but have concluded they are nice for a quick concept of what is possible. Once someone says they actually want the truss and we hammer out details I will continue to draw them so I can control all the pieces and parts. Accent trusses are a nice idea and can work if kept super simple, but not really worth it for anything final on most projects I do.

 

I did not restore to 2022 from a previous version. I have just copied all my libraries and files I want to have in 2022. I can save layers and other settings from the projects I bring over if really needed, but was thinking 2022 might be a good time to reassess how I have things set and try some tweaks.
