Hi,

I was poking around some electrical symbol definitions and on the "COMMON" tab there is a field labeled "LINK". I cannot find a reference to this in the manual or the online help pages. What is it? I am hoping it is there to embed a link to a product website.

Cheers!

That would be my guess. I believe that's how it works in revit, maybe it works that way in SP too...

What happened when you tried adding a link to the symbol?

I tried pasting a link to a web page into the box. Once I did that if I hovered over the symbol, the hyperlink popped up and I was able to click on it and bring up the web page I had associated with the symbol. Pretty cool!

You can add a link to a website or to a PDF or similar document on your computer. However as far as I can see you can only launch the link from the edit menu. It does however enable you to link your drawing to a technical diocument for your use, which sometimes is handy.

Copy a link to a web page or folder on your computer into the space.  if you hover over the object (symbol, text, etc...) you can click and it will take to that address.

I don't get the hover link ... but I seem to remember I have in the past. Don't know what I've done. Maybe it's the link to the PDF installation instructions, that isn't a real hyperlink. I'll have to try it with a webpage.
