Version 2022 has been out for a little bit now.  With that being the case, what is your favorite new feature in this release?

I'll start with mine - I am really excited that we can now align our drawings on plan sets.  This will allow our plan sets to be just that much more professional.  It's a little thing, but the little things make the difference and are very important!

Still haven't upgraded yet on this end. The complaints about bugs and glitches seems to be dying down so I may consider it before too long

- direct x 12 - new rendering options... still playing with it.. starting to get some good results..

- dock-able layers menu.. would hate to go back to earlier version without this..

- Google Terrain Import.. we've made use of this once or twice.. still figuring it out, but looks to be a big deal moving forward..

- PDF import shapes.. I think we used this once so far.. seemed like it works well....

- drawing options sets.. this was confusing at first.. now seeing it's going to be helpful..

- continuous textures on different walls that align ... definitely notice the difference..

- menu and windows explorer preview ... forgot this was even added..

- arch top windows and rake windows much easier..

- tops and bottoms of walls is completely different.. took a few uses to get used to it.. much more control

- corner board tops and bottoms can be controlled.. really nice.. I still wish I could define more than one corner board color / finish..

Am enjoying:

The extension on windows that lets you extension the middle or sides with out changing anything else.

Roofs are smoother

The program is snappier

3d is more fun, altho there are more choices, a little challenging. I'm back and forth on x11 and x12, I'm confused as ever, but my 3ds look better

Need the list Softplan had with changes, there was a lot of little and big changes.

I like the accent truss, have had the need to use it a couple times, quick and easy.

Like the bracket in Posts, next version should have a way to change the degree, but when you need it, its there real quick, then move on.

I can't figure out how the twin windows changed about the join together, buts seems they did.

Yes and the added stuff for walls and the top and bottom adjustability, and split walls etc. are really helpful, guess before you needed 2 walls

Oh yea don't forget the ability to have a window and I guess door, split 2 walls from 2 different drawings, from floor to floor.  that's sweet when you need it.

And another thought that I think is new with 2022, is the ability to open or close all drawings of a planset by right clicking the planset in navigator and selecting open all or close all.

As I rarely have a project on a flat lot, I really like the control of the bottom and top of the wall for slopes, steps, etc.. That plus the ability to have openings bridging those steps and two walls are great improvements.

Thomas, I believe ALL of the above were available in Version 2020. Although it's possible that PDF Shapes import was only available with the Review module.

Favorite new feature is Building Options Conditions. Building Options can now handle very complex configurations. Earlier versions were very limited and so I hardly ever used Building Options.
Least favorite is the new behavior for single extensions. I have to fight that numerous times daily.

Bill,

I love this too.  Are you missing the fact that you can's see the options appear and disappear live when toggling them in the window?  This was so helpful for us but now you can't do it.

Hey Todd. The options update live on my system when checking or unchecking options. I can see the changes in the drawings and in Plan Sets that contain the drawings.

Fred - I think that we had that in the last release as well.  It's a wonderful feature that is very helpful.

I think this was restored in a patch almost immediately after we reported it, which I really appreciate.  I wonder how many users are aware of this feature and the many benefits of this live toggling.  This is especially helpful when sharing or describing something to others, or looking for something yourself.  Many reasons.
