I had pasted objects far away from my floor plan and later deleted them.

 

Now when I try to put this floor plan on a la set page, it bring in the whole area of the file,  large enough to contain 

where the deleted objects were.

 

is there a way I can reduce back down my drawing area size so that I can place is on my pages easily?

I would start with zoom extent and see what's out there.  Good chance something wasn't deleted.  If you have what looks like a bunch of white space off your drawing...block erase everything that is in that white space to make sure everything is gone.  Sometimes you'll have something small like a line segment that you can't see that causes an issue like this

tried this    can see anything.. maybe ill copy and paste to new file

You can adjust the drawing size in Options/Workspace Limit

I don't see workspace limit...

This would be Drawing Options. Project Options or System Options, under the File menu.
