I have tried to get clean lines for the exterior trim to show up in Textured mode and haven't found the right combination.  There is dentil moulding w/ a pc of 4 5/8'' crown around the entry roof and "montrose" freize around the rest of the eaves.

Would anyone have a suggestion?

I have a GeForce RTX2080 , Direct X 12.0.

Thanks

Mike

Try either messing with adding a point light source around but just higher then the camera position....try 8'-12' high perhaps.

Also try messing with increasing the headlight setting and/or decreasing the ambient light  in mode options.

Good Luck!

I don't use texture or render mode precisely because of what your describing.  Too difficult to achieve decent customer images.

try illustration mode, it shows profiles easily. (below image is illustrated mode)

Thanks Joseph.  Never thought about the point of light in the 3D camera.
