There has got to be a better way, right?  Otherwise, I won't be able to justify continuing my subscription to SoftPlan, which would really suck.

I saved my view as a drawing, I exported the drawing as a .dwg file.

I open it in AutoCAD to send to engineer and builder, and everything is one color, one lineweight, and they are all blocks.  100% useless and not feasible to share.

If I explode the block, I have lines on top of lines on top of OTHER lines.

I have had to spend my entire day re-tracing plans and roof plans that the engineers will use (luckily, elevations and sections are just for coordination, but the color and lineweights are still an issue).

Is there ANY way to control and adapt what is exported, or more specifically, what the resultant CAD file looks like?

Take a look at System Options > Export Options ... that's how the items are differentiated on their way to the DWG file.

Thanks, John.  Maybe I only focused on the layering, which was really helpful.  I'll take another dive into the options this morning.
