Hi,

Just curious if anyone knows how to get the soffit to display on both ends of a single sloped roof? I've been editing the 'taller' end roof plane to be an intersect to achieve this, however that end in model view does not show any soffit.

Is there another way to achieve a single slope/pitched roof design? If so, does the same concept apply when trying to draft butterfly roofs in model view?

Thanks!

Gable on the upper side.  Probably need to set the soffit to raked as well

Hi Sam,

Thank you! That worked beautifully. Another question, how do I get the soffit & finished gable wall end to appear here? The current settings of this roof end is a gable, and the soffit/fascia style is plumb, with soffit depth as 5.5".

Please see attached picture for reference.

Thanks!

Hi Keith,

Thank you for the info. I edited my above comment and attached my picture in the way you mentioned. Now, is there a way to delete my C:drive comment?

Just edit it to DELETED. You can't actually remove it.

it looks like it's an intersect, it has to be a gable to show SOFFIT and FASCIA. I've also found in the past that Softplan sometimes doesn't like to change intersect to gable, and have had to change INTERSECT > HIP > GABLE before it understands what I want.

I tried reversing the edit back to hip, and then gable again, but unfortunately it is still drawing this gable end the same way

Your roof edge isn't referencing a wall ... you MUST have a bearing wall or a beam for it to reference. Generally using beams and changing them to hidden and unchecking EXTRACT IN MODEL is the accepred method. Draw a suitable beam and drag the roof edge "lollipop" to the beam and adjust as necessary.

This house i was able to associate all the gables to actual walls rather then hidden walls.  The hidden wall height will be important for gable height so watch that also.
