I have a shed roof that the rafter seat cut is too log leaving the rafter at bearing wall too shallow. I've change seat cut and heel height and I can't get it to work. I'd like the seat cut to start at interior of wall.

You may have to do a clean up or regeneration on each rafter or the rafter polygon. Also make sure the roof cleaned up the way you want and regenerate that. If you don't have too many things customized on offsets, etc. using the global cleanup button may help as well. Warning - I do find it likes to clean up things that are anchored and that cleanup is unchecked on. So, be sure to double-check your model if you use that tool.

This is what I have and want seat cut shorter and that would make heel height higher. If I change those dimensions the rafter gets shorter and comes to a point

Try checking and unchecking energy heel on the eave and see if that does anything. Also, the fascia drives the cut of the rafter (kind of goofy program behavior), so try changing that if no success otherwise. From the last picture it appears that is what is causing the odd shape of the rafter.

Gary, I look at your first picture and it looks like the roof and the rafter are 2 different pitches, is that right?

I'm kinda having the same problem except the seat cut sits on the wall in the little section drawing in the roof details but when it comes to the actual cross section, the bottom of the fascia board is at the same height as the top of the wall and the rafter is up in mid air

Set your overhang and pitch first. Then set the Seat Cut to be the same size as the beam. For example if the beam is 3 1/2" thick then set your Seat Cut to 3 1/2". Your rafters will will cut right to the inside of the beam.
