I'm wanting a compact 2-in-1 laptop so I can be more mobile with work but still have the capability to run SoftPlan moderately well. Most models I've researched don't even come with a dedicated GPU, but the MS Surface Laptop Studio does. Has anyone used SoftPlan on one of these and what was your experience? I realize it won't provide anywhere near the performance of a desktop or full-size laptop spec'd for SoftPlan, but how well does it handle it?

MS Surface Laptop Studio Specs:

- Quad-core 11th Gen Intel® Core™ H35 i7-11370H Processor

NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 Ti laptop GPU with 4GB GDDR6

32GB LPDDR4x RAM

- up to 2TB SSD

don't know much about that particular machine but I use a surface pro and surface book for years as my machine when traveling.  Both had plenty of power to do everything other than fully rendered 3D.

Haven't had any experience with that laptop, but those specs appear MORE than capable of running Softplan.

There are 10 types of people in this world ....... Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I've been running the Surface Laptop Studio for a few weeks now and am quite pleased.

Looks like a good unit.  I don't know if I could ever get used to not having a dedicated numeric keypad though. lol

Love my 9 key for speed of entering data.  Tiny screen would drive me nuts, my Alienware laptop has 17...that seems small, love my stack of 24's

I previously ran Softplan on a Surface w/ detachable keyboard and it ran just fine.
I always used a dock station so had a full keyboard and multiple monitors though. I agree tiny screen is un-usable.
