Searching this site seems to suck so creating another post.  I accidentally bent my key with sticking out of the PC.  It still works but i had to mess with the metal plug with pliers to get it in and out.  How does SP handle getting a replacement key?

Joseph;

It has been awhile since I have had to replace a key.  I assume the procedure is the same and probably is on the website somewhere.  You will need to call Softplan and tell them you to need to replace your key.  They will send a new one out right away and then you have so many days to return your old key to them.  Be sure and send with tracking and enough insurance to cover a lost package.  Once SP receives your key then everything is ok.  If SP does not receive your key to them they will charge you for a new one as if you were purchasing a another key; that is why you insure for the amount of the replacement key if that would become necessary.

A replacement key can be ordered at:

https://softplan.com/?page_id=788

If you're replacing a key from a recent version it's a straightforward process, no tracking or insurance required.

Im not seeing where I could order a replacement key on that page.  I don't need one now, but since I only have one key I've often wondered how bad I'd be screwed if I lost my key or it broke it when I was nearing a deadine on a project.

If I lost my key today, how long would it take for me to be up and running again with a new key?  Is there a way Softplan could give me temporary access to run the software until my new key arrived?  I work from several different PCs and my key stays on my keychain with me at all times.  It's just a matter or time before it breaks.

SoftPlan must have a key to run.

If a key is lost please select replace on this page https://softplan.com/?page_id=788.

If you think a key is failing please contact technical support so they can try to diagnose any issues.

John - thanks for the info.  What would be the turn around time to get that replacement key in the event that mine was lost?

Thanks for the link John.  Looks like we can be up and running pretty quickly with after busting a key......just don't delay in mailing in the broke one!

You have 30 days to return the broken key.
