Have a look at this thread too ... http://softplan.com/...like-this-in-sp ... it may give a little more insight into stairs.

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how to move the angled (2-3 treads) portion of a set of stairs to the top or bottom as opposed to having it in the middle of the rise? I would like to create a set of stairs with a straight run from the bottom most of the way to the next floor, finishing with a 2-3 angled tread portion at the top.

Once you have the Stairs like you want them save them as a Stair Symbol.

Hi Guest,

Once you have chosen which type of stairs ie angled and put it on the plan, you need to edit each of the sections. Edit the lower section of the stairs place curser and left click. In the top dialog box you should find the title straight. Click on this and enter the number of straight stairs you need below the angled section, then do this for the angled section and the upper portion of the stair that is straight.

Go to the straight sections and adjust the number of risers in each section.

Travis, is this what you're talking about?

You can draw it with separate stair sections. Draw a landing at the height and place where you want it and draw a straight section separately and adjust to the correct placement and height. Then add the final few steps as another strait section.
