SoftPlan version 2020 Upgrade Pricing

1. I have a 2011 version and would like to upgrade to 2020 and do a installment plan. Would that be $150.00 per month?

   • We no longer offer updates via installment plan.

2. I have softplan 2020 and need to purchase an additional key how can i do this?

   • Please give the sales a call at 800-248-0164 and they can help you put with the additional seat discount.

3. I have SoftPlan Remodel 2016 and I’m thinking to upgrade to SoftPlan 2020 full version. How Much and how many will be the Installments payments?

   • The payments will be the same, but you will make fewer of them. Please contact sales at 1-800-248-0164 and they can give you the exact number.

4. I had version 11 (I think) that used the old dongle. From above, it appears my upgrade would be $1795, correct? What would Softlist be on top of that? Do I have to purchase them at the same time?

   • If you own SoftList a new version is included in the upgrade. Please contact sales (sales@softplan.com) to get your exact pricing.

5. WHEN IS THE NEXT VERSION COMING OUT? IM THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING FOR THE FIRST TIME BUT I DONT WANT A VERSION THAT IS NEAR RETIREMENT.

   • If you purchase new now an upgrade to the next version would be included.

6. I have been using Soft Plan since the early 90s.
   Thats when it was a DOS based program.
   This will be my 4th upgrade

7. My HP 450C plotter recently died. Instead of making another large plotter investment can my drawings be exported to a large format printing company for printing.

   • Yes – typically users would create a PDF file and send it to a local reprographics company.

8. My company has used softplan since sometime back in the 90’s. I am the company owner, and my brother was the resident expert on Softplan and CAD in general. We have hundreds if not thousands of drawings on Softplan. My brother passed away in 2015, and Softplan is used now primarily for retrieving plans, occasionally modifying them. I would hire someone in this position if they existed but so far unable.
   At any rate, Softplan is on an old machine that needs to be upgraded. If we upgrade can we put Softplan on the new machine and import all of our old plans, some going way back, to the new version?

   • Yes – you should be able to but you should give sales a call and tell them what version you’re coming from.

9. I am using a retired 2013 SP version, well past time to upgrade and I lost the key this month during a move. when i upgrade to 2020 does the new key come with it?

   • Please give the your customer service representative a call on Monday after the holiday at 1-800-248-0164. They can help you get upgraded with a new key.

10. One last question before I pull the trigger. I curently own 2018 If i upgrade to softplan+ will my key still work for 2018?

    • Yes id you currently have 2018 it will still work after an upgrade to SoftPlan+ and Version 2020.

11. So John or Admin Just to be clear. If i subscribe to + for say 6 years and decide to stop the subscription afterwards; to access the files I created during that time I would have to buy the most current version and all the months/years of subscription $$$ would be forfeit? If that is the case what is the attraction of a subscription?

    • SoftPlan drawings are not backward compatible so in this scenario, you are going to need to purchase the upgrades from where you started to the current version. The + payments would not be forfeited but be credited towards the cost of the upgrades.

12. an I upgrade from SoftPlan 12 at 150$ for 12 months?
    What happens to the drawing I now have on my system? Will they immediately move into SoftPlan 2020?

    • It’s up to you. When you install you will be asked if you want to update the existing SoftPlan or install a new one.

13. I am/was still using 2014. The computer I used for drawing plans has stopped working. Figured its past time to upgrade computer and softplan. How can I upgrade to 2020 softplan and can I still access my previous plans and transfer them to the new computer and softplan?

    • It probably is time to move forward. Once you get the SoftPlan 2020 installed on the new computer reach out to technical support and they will help you get the projects moved over.

14. is this the software which MiTek used as the basis of their Sapphire Suite?

    • SoftPlan is not the basis for MiTek Sapphire Suite but you can export the SoftPlan drawing file directly to MiTek Sapphire Suite.

15. If I subscribe to SP+ and later decide the subscription route is not for me do I retain a working version of SP that can access my current drawings?

    • If you cancel + you would revert to where you started. You would then have to upgrade to the current version to access any projects saved in that version.

16. Hi, I purchased the softplan 2018 last August, 21st and they added the softplan + as well, until new upgrade was available. I have been notified that my softplan + will be running out May 1st. question, if I upgrade to the softplan 2020, will it include softplan + as well?
    I like the new timber truss/post & beam detail, as that is what I design. Do you have a detail for SIPS panels yet?

    • If you subscribe to SoftPlan+ the SoftPlan version 2020 upgrade is included, if you upgrade the traditional way SoftPlan+ is not included.

17. I thought that when I upgraded to 2018, that I could pay my $49 per month and never pay for an upgrade again. Could you explain why I cannot access my 2018 currently?

    • As a SoftPlan+ subscribe you should have access to your both your 2018 and version 2020. Most likley the wrong choice was made during the installation. Plese reach out to supprt directly and they will get it straigned out for you.
