Is there anyway to create 3D objects yourself? other than using lines to make isometric drawings? Like a custom wine rack for example, with curves and lots of detail.

You can use AutoCAD or Sketchup and use the resulting DWG or SKP files in the Softplan symbol set up. You can also build most this using Softplan solids to make 3D objects.
Here is a 3D peg wine rack I made in Autocad

Can you post an example of what you want to see.
You can EXTRUDE any shape into a 3D solid within Softplan, by drawing shapes and using BLOCK FORM POLYGONS and FORM SOLID POLYGON.

How can you move the polygons? Like... they are laying flat, how can I stand them up on end or side etc..?

You have to use the symbol wizard ...
Have a look at this post ... http://softplan.com/...er-roof/?p=8039 ... this refers to trusses, but the principle is exactly the same.
