I just opened a plan that I haven't worked on in a while and the roof is showing while in drawing mode. I have tried going back an forth between drawing mode and roof mode and turning off layers but it still shows the roof in drawing mode which mean i cant see my main floorplan.

See if roof is turned on?

I check that and nothing under the roof section is selected. I just realized is not all roof options, it's only the ceiling and the roof framing.
