Hey all,

Maybe I missed the thread I was looking for, but where do I look for tips on drawing 3D solids? I saw a suggestion on one of Verlin Klassen's threads where the other user suggested creating a log ladder using 3D solids. I used to use AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCad several years ago, so now I'd like to figure out how to create 3D solids in SoftPlan... or is that just dumb, and I should use SketchUp or something else?

Depends on how complex 3d Solids. Softplan has a few solids that can be added together to create relatively simple compound shapes. If you're looking for complex shapes, you may be better using SketchUp and importing them.

So do I need to create a separate project and draw the 3D solid in there, then import it to wherever I need it?

No, you can create them in the project you are working on. I would do it on a separate drawing though.

I created a corner patio door in 3D shapes and saved it as a series of symbols ... See this thread ... https://softplan.com...-sliding-doors/

Is that the sort of thing you had in mind? (not the door, the technique!)

Yeah, that's the idea, except I didn't need something even that complicated. Thanks! If I get in a bind, I'll yell for the guy who understands binary. :D
