Hello! I am recently new to SoftPlan and have been using my regular HP laptop which these are the specifications:

Processor 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1255U (1.70 GHz)
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
Graphics card Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics (128 MB)
Storage 388 GB of 477 GB used
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 25H2
Installed on ?2/?11/?2025
OS build 26200.8246

I understand and have noticed the limitations with this processing system and realize I need something with more power and memory. I am willing to purchase a new laptop in order to continue with using all the 3D opportunities SoftPlan has to offer. Could you please tell me what you currently use or what you would recommend for a new user? I need to put together my shopping list!

I always use HP omen laptops and desktops.  they will do anything you can throw at them in softplan.  Be prepared to spend some money.  I just replaced on of my laptops and spend over 2k on it

I think your main issue is the "IRIS" graphics...

I use a 16" LENOVO Legion Slim 5 - quite powerful, but expensive. As Sam said, "Be prepared to spend some money".

The advantage being that in 10 years, it will still be a powerful laptop.

Sam.

I have been looking at omen for my new desk top. Do you use their standard 'model' or gaming?

In general, Softplan's hardware load is more analogous to gaming than to a "business machine," so I think the consensus opinion is to aim more for the gaming side of the tech world. A good processor, ample RAM (ideally without taking out a second mortgage, but given the current tech price landscape, be ready to cry), and a dedicated GPU are all high priority for running SoftPlan.

Jason.

That's what I guessed when looking at the prices.

I spent some money on the one I have now, and it is well passed it"s shelf life.

I'll do the same again.

Thank you for your response.
