jason,

all this for $800 (note: i didn't look thru all the extras / upgrades)

this should do you as well as any computer on the market,

especially for the price.

disclaimer:

i'm not a computer expert as some on this forum are.

listen to them.

is this your main computer and/or for travel only ?.

this should run softplan / softview (2d & 3d) with no problems.

actually can't do much better for a computer to run softplan/softview.

would hold it's own against most computers (desktops & laptops)

what is the price ?  (would be nice to know what the cost is)

is there a reason your going with the 15.6" over a 17" (if there is one)

It's going for $1,199.  They don't offer the 17" in this line.

This would be my main computer, and would use a docking station with 2 external monitors.  I would be using it for the 3D as well.

I might ...er, rather... YOU might take 20 minutes to compare price / specs with something from the ASUS Republic of Gamer line...

since you will be tethered to external monitors, I guess the screen size should not be an issue....

we've had great experiences with two ASUS ROG laptops....

must also mention that the SSD drive is awesome... you will love it... laptop will boot-up in seconds...
