Hello, This will probably sound like a newbie question but I can't figure it out. I've worked on softplan for 3 years now and just started to really get in the renderings. I've seen some renderings that have the grass that looks like baseball fields. Ask someone on Facebook and they said it's a texture on the program. I've looked and can't find it anywhere. Am I doing something wrong.

You can often find textures by searching Google images.

There are also several sights which specialize in textures.

It is easy to modify one of the Softplan grass textures with a paint program

you can do a google texture search for grass.

i saved a few > the ones that look fairly realistic

are a photograhp of a  large sections of a grass area and check

"scale" when editing the surface.

look for a large jpg at the least (bmp or png might be better) and put them

in your 3d / texture / bmp / site / grass - folder.

remember to check "SCALE" when editing that surface.

that might work for you.

tip:  also look for seamless grass textures

I posted this link in the old forum.  There are over 30K textures & 3D models. I think this is where Derek's striped grass came from.

you can put too solids like splines together with

the same mowed grass texture but editing the

one that's a little higher with it having an "opacity"

(so you can see thru it to the lower texture)

and also having the upper splines texture "rotated"

and this way the lower one shows thru.

note:

the actual texture is with the mowed strips

go only in one direction.

note: the golf cart and golfers are from sketchup.

the people are jpgs and exported as models

and the golf cart is a 3ds model exported

and than used the "symbol wizard" in softplan..
