I've been trying to push lately the use of Room Mode to speed up items such as room labeling, ceiling lights and all the items included in the Interior mode but came up with a few problems.

  1. I changed the use of lights a while ago from being in the Light to the Ceiling Light library (for ceiling lights) because using more the 3D, the lights wouldn't turn on unless they were in the Ceiling Light library. I still had my old lights in the Light library under the same name but different 3D symbols attached to them. This caused a problem because even after setting my Room template in the System Options with the Ceiling Lights, it would default back to the lights from the Light library. I had to erase the lights from the Light library in my System Library. This solved things partially because dealing a lot with existing plans, it defaults back to the old Light symbols because these symbols are in the Drawing Library and can't be deleted. Or is there a way to do it?
  2. From Room Properties, when I select Building Options for different rooms, these Building Options don't activate for the wall coverings, flooring, etc... they remain on the Default Building Option. If I select one of the Building Options as active before drawing the room, they are then attached to that Building Option (also shows as such in the Room Properties) but if I then go to the Room Properties and double click on the Building Option to select other Building Options that I want to associate to it, these all revert back to the Default Building Option even if it doesn't appear as such in the Room Properties. Seems like such a waste of time and counter productive. If I select different Building Options in the Room Properties, then these Building Options should attach to all items in that room.
