my family is looking for a programmable smart lock for a front door.

 

anyone have a suggestion

and

could you suggest a forum where i could also ask this question.

 

note:

maybe it would be nice to have a product forum that relates to buildings/architecture in splash.

I installed two Kwikset on a home I built about three years ago and have had no issues. Very user friendly. The only drawback I see is they work on battery, so you have to stay on top of it much like smoke detectors.

We also installed one of the quickset locks because they are Z-wave compatible and we had a home automation system installed that could communicate with it. I have to agree with Mike above that the  biggest drawback is the batteries. They don't last all that long either.
