I hope there will be more bugfixes to come, as I'll admit to some significant frustration with some issues I've sent them and discussed on the forums. Can't say I had even noticed this one. If anyone notices some fixes with the patch that aren't mentioned in the log, please let us all know.

Was it a fair sized patch? Sometimes they put a lot into the patch, but don't mention it, probably because it is code.

OTOH, I can now see where it is a good thing to wait for my 2016 to come. A lot of kinks will of been resolved (hopefully!). ;)

The patch fixed all of the problems I had. Working really well the last couple days now.

Lots more needs to be fixed that I haven't seen yet.  Nothing major but slightly irritating.   The biggest one for me is when editing an item....if I change the size of a door for instance and then click ok...the size doesn't change.  If I hit the tab key...it keeps the change but doesn't highlight the next item so I have to manually highlight that...its really slowed things down around here.   Moving objects is really jumpy and SLOW!!!   I have 2016 on three machines and its the same on all three.

That is the reason I never mind waiting a few months. -Although I have to admit that new toys are fun.

For some reason Softplan has always been very secretive about their Beta program where other companies just release the beta to anyone who wants to participate.

Matt Orner - would you mind sharing some of the kinks you've seen ironed out since the patch?

Sam Morgan - I've also noticed slowness in simple tasks like moving items. Have you had issues with block or cross erase?

Yes Harry...anything that you have to draw an expanding box around is horribly slow.

I to am significantly frustrated with a number of items.  I guess I haven't noticed any change with the patch.  To me it seems like I am taking way more steps to get something done.  The 3d zoom is very frustrating.  When drawing a 3.5" wall, seems like the program just picks a side to trace and its never the right side!  Highlighting, when I pick a cabinet the sides of the cabinet get so big I cant even see where I am moving it to.  Text is the same way seems like I get like a ghost image of the text that remains in the original spot, so if I just want to nudge the text a bit I cant see because of the ghost image.  Lots of other things that seemed to work just fine in 2014 are now issues.  Sorry I am ranting on but I am just really frustrated.  If I hadn't worked on a number of jobs in 2016 I would consider uninstalling and going back to 2014 until they get these things fixed.

I think that 2016 is working much better out of the box that 2014 ever did. 2014 was a nightmare for me.  I had so many crashes it was ridiculous. Softplan did get 2014 corrected and it became a pleasure to work with. I have had two crashes with 2016 and I am not really sure it has been a Softplan issue because it was installed on a brand new computer that I have built with all new components. As with any new major upgrade we are going to have issues because of the many different computer configurations the program needs to deal with. Softplan has been great about remedying these problems and I would expect that will be the case with 2016.

The biggest thing for me was softplan + was blocked. Everything was grayed out and I couldn't access anything in the help tab. As for the moving, it's a bit slower than 2014 but nothing that is too annoying.
As for the 3D zoom, it is a bit slow when using the 3D camera but I did buy the 3D connexion mouse and use it a lot and haven't had any problems using that. It is however slower but way smoother.
I too agree that they might have jumped the gun and did a bit more testing but overall I'm happy so far.
