note:

i'm on vacation with no softplan.

hut here goes.

you first need to save that elevation and open the vis line drawing (SPD)

draw in the shape of the roof looking from the front. just like

it's shown in the image using a  / shape / arc / ser

draw a centerline

NOTE: your going to use HALF of the shape (RIGHT side) so make sure there's

a break at the center.

now go to either system or drawing options / library / roof profile

(no access to softplan so remembering from memory which puts

me at major disadvantage - now what's the question ?)

can't remember what's next but it has something to do with

drawing a BOX around the profile and giving it a NAME

and saving it.

i'll presume you've put a roof on it to get some sort of an elevation

to create your PROFILE.

now edit the HIP sides and change the style to "PROFILE"

change the profile to the NAME you just created.

right click on the other side HIP and left click on "repeat edit"

you might have to edit the > height & width on both sides

tip: have a 3d open to see your progress.

note: it does take a little getting used too but

really not that difficult.

note: if your having problems, i'd be happy to hook up to

your computer when i get back on saturday night.

we'll use go to meeting.

email randy at

rpcdesign at aol dot com

put "softplan help" in subject line

include what version your using

and your

phone number and name

and where your located.

i have free calling to canada and usa - 24/7

IMPORTANT:

attach your SPD files.

you can also include your SPP files

but not super important.

Thanks Randy, I think I'm headed in the right direction. I kept playing around after I posted the question. I used two profile planes for each side of the entry, one concave which intersects with a convex. It was tricky but it gave me the look.
