Thanks Martin!

The timber Frame trusses are all Softplan beams placed and using the vertical deflection option.

A few of my more fun projects...

I definitely need to take lessons from some of you on site work : attractive flower gardens that don't look like they came out of a can, driveways that curve naturally, tree placement...

David, that is amazing work. The only thing I would have done differently would be cranking up the emissive level on the pot light "lens" surface so they appear to be turned on.

Martin in attached you can see the Timber trusses in the framing

I am some glad we don't stick frame our roofs here. All I have to do is create the roof lines and the truss guys take care of the rest. That timber framing detail looks like it takes quite a bit of time.

Martin the majority of our roofs are also trussed. I frame the roofs using trusses and stick frame

in Softplan to catch any possible glitches before sending to the truss guy. We then work together

reviewing each others work before sending it into the field. Timber Framing is big here using recycled

timbers etc. I live on the North edge of Yellowstone with some heavy snow loads ( some up to 120+# per foot)

This is an old one, but was for a renovation project to convert the existing "closed off" layout to an "open concept" layout, while keeping existing load bearing walls and minimizing cost and engineering impact.

Nice work Tommy.

I do very few interiors (make that almost none). My main focus is getting building permit drawings done, and then moving on to the next project. In fact most of my drawings have opaque windows so that people can't so what a mess the interiors are in ...

you have to love the direction that softplan has gone with renderings

far cry from 20 of so years ago.

thanks softplan tech and programmers.

to all renderers,

use the cameras "field of view"  bottom right (of editing) when editing the camera

to make the walls at the far right and far left parallel with the

respective edges of the image.

(Note: not necessary for all renderings > depends on the looks your after)

hope you understand what i just said,  i'm not sure i do!

this is especially important in full exterior views of your buildings.

adding edges of trees at left and/or right helps frame the picture.

can also add some ground plants in front between the edges in

some situations.

be careful of over-doing reflections.

the rendering quality has sure improved over the past 20 years.
