Not sure how many people are aware of "Inkscape" on this forum, Inkscape is an open source graphic design tool.
However, it has one great feature for Softplan users. It has the ability to save a PDF as a DXF file. Now obviously this has to be a real PDF, not just a JPG in a PDF wrapper. In other words, it has to be a VECTOR graphic, not a RASTER image.
If you are on a manufacturers website and they offer their information in PDF, You can import said PDF into Inkscape and Save as a DXF file. You have to do a little cleanup and probably (Very probably!) size adjust, but it will allow you to create a Softplan symbol from a PDF. Now obviously, you don't get the 3D's with it, but it is useful for showing actual items in plan views.
