Hello,

For kitchen cabinet placement, is there a selection that will allow cabinets to be freely placed, but when they butt up to another cabinet they will automatically stop when they touch each other?  A simple drag out of the library and place on the wall, slide next to a cabinet and that's where it stops.

That way, I could select any cabinet size, position it on the wall, and simply slide it next to the adjacent cabinet to form the cabinet run.  I am probably not using this feature of the program because now in order to place cabinets I have to select it, place it on the wall, add dimension lines then adjust the cabinet position relative to the adjacent cabinet by using dimension line extensions and editing the cabinet placement that way.

The same question for placing an appliance next to a cabinet, so it would simply stop when it reached the cabinet.

Thanks,

Lane

Cabinets AUTOMATICALLY  snap into position, you don't need to use any dimensioning.

Select the cabinet and add next to the one you want they will automatically snap together to form a complete unit. You can even use AUTO CABINET to add a complete run - although to be honest, I find that it's easier to add the ones you want singly the auto cabinet always seems to need a lot of editing.

I always use a 33" cabinet to make an appliance space, then snap the appliance to the cabinet and delete the cabinet. Editing a dishwasher space is even easier, as you can use REPLACE CABINET WITH SYMBOL directly from the cabinet edit menu.

Thanks for sharing the video, Keith.  It helped me understand a little more about placing cabinets.  And it also points out one issue I have with the way cabinets are shown in 3D.  If you look at the cabinet with the oven, notice that the handles (knobs) on the top doors are about six and one half feet off the floor.  This seems to happen to me a lot.  Does anyone know a way to properly place the knobs?
