Good Morning,

 

I need to extend the ridgeline on the rear of the house to reach the main two story roof (see attached), but I do NOT want to extend the overhangs any farther past the second story rear wall of the home.  Is this possible?

Yes, you have to trace that particular wall edge with 4 edges.

You can't have a gable and an intersect on a single edge, so you need more edges. You nay also fall into the problem that Softplan doesn't like referencing two edges to the same wall, so you may have to break the wall into two parts too.

try "ADD" roof

I usually just "extend" that roof till the ridge intersects and then "draw hole" to get rid of the unwanted down at the eave.

We use Sams method. Create intersecting roof with vertical plane, extend past ridge connecting point and then back to

dotted line showing valley intersections. Cut hole to eliminate extra roof and uncheck soffit and fascia boxes.

also playing with rotate texture of the siding and

it got carried away.  do we have a command called

ROTATE top of gable wall ?

 

 

the ADDed roof took 4 seconds or less.
