I have 2016 and am considering adding the softlist module. Will I have to redraw the plans I need estimates in or will softlist work on existing drawings. Thanks for any help.

It will work with existing, pending you drew them correctly :-)

Softlist will work on the existing drawings. The more detailed the drawing, the better the takeoff.

I decided to dive into SoftList after years of using my own extensive spreadsheets. I wish I had made the leap much sooner. It's really amazing once you get everything how you like it. Like Tom eluded "pending you drew them correctly" means if you don't draw it, it won't estimate it. Forget the ceiling? It won't be on the list. Forget to add base trim? Not on the list. No flooring in the bedrooms...... You get the picture. I was working on one earlier this week and couldn't figure out why my attic insulation wasn't on the list. Then I realized I forgot to check the "Insulated" box for the ceiling.
Super awesome, but be careful.
I decided to create my own configurations completely from a blank slate. This took a lot longer than adjusting a pre-set SP config, but for me I like to knowing as much as possible about how the formulas work to have a better understanding of what happens to the list when plans are drawn or altered.
You'll love it once you learn to speak the language!

Softlist is really amazing if you draw EVERYTHING and correctly. It only reports what you draw. You will probably have to redraw any house done previously to be sure everything is there. For me the big issue is when I have to work on formulas to meet things we use in Texas that are different from Canada or where ever. Getting report a set up to work properly really kicks my ass!
I agree that the version that originally came out with 2018 was a disaster for me. It's sort of back to normal now and I use it regularly on small houses (2000 to 3000 sq. ft) but I don't even try on my big stuff.
It will drive you crazy at first...but eventually you will love it....
