Again, not sure how many people know ... or care:

If you want to move an object 8-23/32", you can either input decimal as 8.71875" OR you can input fractions directly as 8.23/32" on the numeric pad.

More Fractions and expanding into Unicode:

To enter Unicode Values - See http://unicode-table...ntrol-character

For a really comprehensive list of symbols, characters, game symbols (chess, cards etc) try here: http://unicode.org/charts/

Type the relevant Hex Code and then Press and hold ALT then Press X then release ALT.

So for example

215a = 5/6

215b = 1/8

2153 = 1/3

2655 = ♕ (Chess Queen)

2623 = ☣ (Biohazard)

Doesn't work in the forum boxes, but try it in Softplan's "Text" box.

This will allow a whole host of special characters to be input.

Not sure if these will work with all fonts, but should work with most - the more detailed the font the better - Arial Unicode MS, I believe supports all the codes.

Obviously this is not just Softplan, but should work with a lot of software. The only trick is remembering all the Codes .... Good luck with that!

Great tip on the fractions. I'll get some use out of that one. I can never remember the decimal equivalents of 1/16 th of an inch.
