I've had a few folks ask me about my b/w renders, these are from illustrated mode with simple adjustments.  I've attached the .mro file zip file.

Basically move the file to your SoftPlan/3d/3d render options folder.  Then load it while in a 3d mode.  file/render options/load

I have been wishing to achieve this look, and really appreciate it. Using your settings already and love it.

Glad to see this topic was successful!  The key is 3d/mode options, messing with the setting can make some pretty interesting 3d effects.  Don't worry if you mess up the setting, you can always reload the one called default/3d.mro

I'd like to be able to create and name my own modes. Lets face it, every mode can be made identical by tweaking the settings, so there's no reason why you can't have virtually unlimited modes.

If you save the mode settings as Softplan.mro and then "user".mro, you can double the modes available, and load each set as necessary.it would just be nice to be able to name them something appropriate.

In my world, the "CLAY MODEL" mode is useless, and can be made into ANYTHING else to suit.

Hi Matt,

while in illustrated mode:

file/render options/load

My path is c:\softplan2020\3d\3d render options

so using file explorer drop the file in that 3d render options directory.

Joseph,

What trees and shrubs/ground cover do you use?  They look great.  I can't get the same look cycling through the trees and shrubs even when using your mro file in illustrated mode.

Hi Todd,

welcome to SoftPlan and Splash!

shrubs i use catalpa, shrubs i use blue point.  also I use planting bed and patio using splines.  trees i use tree 1 and tree13 in the billboard area.  for the property line i use a connecting spline again.  also i use grade lines to cut thru everything when dealing with exposed and walkout lowers.  sometimes i use rock symbols and fences to hide things.  also i adjust the height and width of symbols to help look better for the quarter shots.
