Has anyone had any problem with installing Softplan 2014 from the disk to a computer using Windows 8.1?  I just got a new computer with 8.1 and the install disk is not recognized.  All it shows is that it consists of a lone audio file that is 1 kb in size.  When same disk is put into a another computer with XP is works fine.

I have also tried other install disks from other programs and they work fine

Neither Dell tech nor Softplan tech know why it is not recognizing it.  I am currently reverting to uploading the whole Softplan 2014 folder to a portable drive to download it onto the new computer and keeping fingers crossed that it works

Thanks Randy. I guess there is some hope. If I can get a way to install the program at least I know it will work

Just wish I knew why my disk drive doesn't recognize it as a setup disk

Jeff, Does it just not Autorun? Can you go to the drive in WINDOWS EXPLORER, and run the SETUP.EXE file manually?

EDIT: Actually, you probably answered that with the "Lone audio file" bit didn't you .... ?

It is strange.  I tried to drag the folder from one computer over to the one but that didnt wokr (that was about a 3 hour ordeal).  Then I uploaded the set up disk to my web drive and now installing it from that.  Another long process but I think after about 8 hours of this I should be okay (fingers crossed).
