Anyone else having roof issues again. ??  what I mean is draw a multi floor and save drawing..  close out of project...  open up project and roof is all messed up or way up in the air.

This was happening before but was fixed in a patch...  Now with new patch it seems to be doing it again..

I feel alot of these issues are with the annotated elevation feature..

This could be a great feature but it needs a ton of work..   It probably should not have been rolled out in this version yet.   It has caused so may issues with things on our end.  and we cant even really use it because the final results are not the best or up to our par of drawing ability...

If softplan can get a better presentation use of the annotated elevations This feature will be amazing..  But currently it is very very limited and there is alot you can't do with it..

(step footers with brick or stone to grade with sloping grades)

(we have to break  walls due to some being just osb siding on a bonus room truss and some being 2x6 osb siding drywall inside the bonus room end so it reports correctly on softlist..) stuff like that....)

On a very simple no complex house it works great.   But some of our houses are pretty cut up and you have to draw in thing even on roof to fake out program to get it to look good.

It would be nice to have ability to turn off some lines in that view.   That would be a huge help and step in right direction...

Thanks

Just checked on the model I've been working on over the last few days and all seem well... it does use a multi-roof (1 1/2 story home) too.

Hi Jonathan.

I have not seen the multiple floor roof issue with version 2020.2.3. Please create a ticket with your project and we will take a closer look.

I have them come "un-lollipopped" from time to time.. especially on more complex roofs.  Try hitting clean-up and see if the "re-lollipop".  usually they will as long as you don't mess around with it too much in the interim.

I have been having issues with the lollipop unattaching from the wall & when I re-attach it the overhang is different. Very frustrating!

Also when there is a higher roof overhanging another lower roof the lower roof does not want to clean up to the wall.

Also if your walls are angled the roof is a major project to get it to reference the angled walls.

I thought v.2020 was supposed to be a major improvement in the Roof area, but so far it is worse than the last version!

I've had trouble with roofs staying attached to walls and references bouncing all over when I edit or adjust a roof. I have lots of very odd roofs and old homes we are working on that do not model easily in SP. It is always a challenge to get roofs to represent reality in many of the remodel or new home projects we work on, unless the roof is super simple.

It  happens to me occasionally but a "clean up" usually fixes it.

We are running 9 keys and are having this issue for the past few versions. We have narrowed it down to 2 different commands that are causing it. One, the lollipop detach every time we turn overlay on/off. Two, if we mess around with the reference point. It is frustrating for our office because we have designers separate from our draftsman. So in minor cases it's hard for the drafters to know when a roof when out of whack when they do the C.D.'s

I must say though..2020 is a lot more stable than previous versions.

I have been having this issue as well.  It happens to me when I turn an overlay on when using a multi-floor roof system.  The lollipops come undone from the plates as soon as I turn on a first floor overlay while on the 2nd floor.  A clean up fixes most of the time, but sometimes a hip roof will become an intersect roof and now i'm forced to go back and fix thigns.  This was a problem about 2-3 versions ago and then they fixed it, but it appears it is back now.  It's frustrating for sure when you have a complex roof and are forced to fix it.

There's nothing more frustrating, than when Softplan thinks we've done things wrong, so it repeatedly fixes them because it knows better!

Has there been any head way on this issue?  We are still having this problem and it is maddening.

I've had that happen recently again as well. More complicated roofs tend to be problematic.

I too have this problem from time to time - I have to right-click and regenerate the roof, and it fixes it...it's not overly time consuming, but definitely a pain in the butt...

The issue seems to relate to toggling the Overlay command on and off in a different mode when the project contains a Multiple Floor roof that references lower walls. If you can avoid using overlays once the roof is added, the Multiple Floor roof should be fine. If you do happen to use an Overlay, the roof needs to be regenerated to find the lower floors. The issue has been reported.
