I having to put 3D text "PROGRAM WILL NOT CREATE DORMER SHAFT WALLS" because I hole in roof or hole in ceiling add drywall does not work.

I usually can find a work around but not this time.

Ceiling is sloped and roof is slope (obviously).

Anyone have a work around.

You can use Solid>Wedges and inverted Wedges.  Or you can take a cross section and create a Solid Polygon, create a symbol and rotate it with the symbol wizard.

Wedges

Wedges became very time consuming adjusting then losing what I had when editing drawing.

Symbols

Seems you can only rotate a symbol if it is linked to a 3D symbols.

When a work around takes hours to figure out, then you lose what you created it becomes extremely frustrating.

For now I am going to have to leave the text "PROGRAM WILL NOT CREATE DORMER SHAFT WALLS".

Just draw some walls in the right locations ...  Set at correct height, rake bottom, and fit top to roof ... No, IT won't create Dormer shaft walls. but YOU can, the key is in the original statement ... WALLS.

Confused. "No, IT won't create Dormer shaft walls. but YOU can, the key is in the original statement ... WALLS."

"No, IT won't create Dormer shaft walls."

I'm trying to create Dormer Walls.

"but YOU can, the key is in the original statement ... WALLS."

How?

Do you have example or procedure?

Just draw walls and position to suit. The dormer is already created, all you need to create is the shaft. Four standard walls at the right height should do the trick nicely. Put them on their own layer, and don't hide it.
