Does anyone know if the 3Dconnexion mouse works directly with SoftPlan?  I've seen it mentioned in this forum many times, but i'm never sure if they are using it with SoftPlan or a 3rd party 3D program.  I contacted the 3Dconnexion tech support and they said they don't think it does.  Before i invest in one, i wanted to know exactally what i was getting into.

Thank you for contacting 3Dconnexion Technical Support. That is a very good question, but it does not look like SoftPlan has support for our driver or devices.

 

I took a look on our supported software page which you can find here: https://www.3dconnex.../software0.html

 

I also looked on SoftPlan’s website and FAQ’s and I couldn’t find anything that states there is support.

 

Generally for a developer to give support for our devices, a request has to come from users/customers.

 

The more customers that request the support, the more recourses the developer puts into it.

I have used the space navigator for years and have never had an issue with it NOT working with SP.

I have the wired one.  Not sure they had the wireless when I bought mine.

I have a wired one at home and a wireless at my office.  They both work great with Softplan.

I use the SpaceMouse Compact and it works great.

I use the space navigator for a couple of year then it just stopped,

still have it but unable to get it working again. Tried driver,

but no progress with it yet, still lights up but just does not come to life.

Registers with the laptop but nothing further?

Are you guys using the spacemouse in object mode?  I just got one and it is in camera mode while in softplan and I don't have the option to change it.
