Lately the end posts of my deck railing automatically position at the height of the subfloor rather than the top of the deck. Where can I find the setting to correct that?

Does anyone have a solution for me?

When you edit the post, there's a box to set both the height of the post and the position of the post. I don't think you can

choose what the posts reference, but you can adjust the post position down to make it sit on the deck.

Is it just the ends that are close to the floor system or all the posts that adjust? Another option is to change the post heights (offsets) and then save it as another definition and see if it works on other decks.

I think you have to adjust the posts separately.

Are you putting the railings on, and then setting the height of the deck? If so try doing it the other way around.

This kind of thing happens whether I do it manually or auto railing. Often, the posts are all offset to the top of the subfloor.

that's odd... you may have to move it to where you want it, and right click > edit > uncheck the "cleanup" box so that it doesn't move on you.

That happens to me all the time, I change the left/right position then turn off cleanup.  SP claims major updates with stair/railings in 2022, we'll see if this continues.

Thank you all! I was hoping I would not need to edit the post position every time.

I didn't read thru this post very well, so if I'm way off base, understand. But if it is that the porch railing keeps popping up to inside finish floor level, i had that issue and Softplan techs said i needed to be using "guard rails" not just plain railing.

I made the change to using "guard rails" for porches, and problem fixed.  Makes sense now.
