Hi

Is there any way to get the area of a room onto the Room Finish schedule? I know that I can go into area mode and trace each of the rooms separately and then add to the schedule manually. I just think it silly that, after having traced the rooms once to apply finishes, I would have to trace them again to get the area.

Using v2012...

Thanks

Wesley Penner

While in Room mode you can right click on any room and choose "Info" at the bottom of the menu. This will show you the area of the room. Won't help you with getting it into your room schedule, but it will save you having to get the area in Area mode

Thanks Philip,

If only all that information (e.g. perimeter, paint sq ft, etc.) could be dumped into the room finish schedule. We don't use softlist. All of our estimating is done with spreadsheets and paper. This could be very useful. Even you folks with v2020 don't have that option?

Right click as Philip said above, then left click on Label. Since the note was done in Room Mode you'll have to click on visible in all modes so you can see it in the drawing mode. Then you can edit the note and dump any info you don't need. I'm using 2020 so I assume its available in 2012.

Revision to above post: Right click on the Room Name in DRAWING MODE, Left click on Label; Left click again where you want to place the note, then it will be visible in the Drawing Mode. Or when you add a Room Schedule include "AREA" to the schedule.

Another reason to upgrade to latest version. My v2012 doesn't seem to have the area option in Room Finish schedule dialog.
