Why is it that every time I add a set of deck stairs, they end up going up from the deck surface. Would it be fair to say that most deck stairs go down to grade? I end up placing the deck stairs and then editing them to "Reverse Direction" and then performing a "Cleanup". Once I've done all this they head in a downward direction. Does anyone know of a way to set up the stairs so they go down to grade when they are initially placed?

Thanks!

When you sketch a stair the end of the sketch is the top of the stair.  So if you start away from the deck on the grade and end on the deck, I think you will get what you are looking for.

Thanks John. I was actually referring to preconfigured Deck Stairs (Deck_Stairs_Stairs_Straight). When placing these stairs the stairs rise up from the deck surface. I prefer the preconfigured stairs because they allow me to preset all the parameter I want for deck stairs.

Even the preconfigured stairs should work as John suggested.

Well I'll be darned!!  Thanks Keith and John. Problem solved. I have always clicked on the deck edge first. Now I know better.
